 CHILDREN’S CLASSES  

Instructor Laurie Wierse, a former elementary school counselor and mom of two young children, offers superb instruction for your children and grandchildren.

ETIQUETTE CLASSES

Teaching children to be courteous and respectful at home and in public places; dining etiquette at home, at a guest’s house and in a restaurant.  Manners for things we say and do, ranging from telephone etiquette to meeting and greeting others, and respecting diversity.  Designed for two age groups; preschool (ages 3 – 5 years) and elementary (kindergarten – fifth grade.

Summer Kid’s Art & Crafts Classes 2008
With Miss Judy, the most fun, creative classes around!

 For Ages 5 & up
All classes meet from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
$13.00 registration fee, plus $5.00 supply fee per class, per child.

Week 1 – June 16 – 20

 June 16 – Snuggy Babies – Cutest, cuddly babies made from panty hose and wrapped in fleecy blankets. No sewing.

 June 17 – Decoupage Boxes – Create personalized keepsake boxes while learning the process of decoupage.

 June 18 – Brick Bird House Doorstop – a very cool craft using real bricks.

 June 19 – “Owl Babies” Story Craft – The illustrative technique in the story of “Owl Babies” by Waddell will be our guide to creating great chalk masterpieces.

 June 20 – Leather ‘Look’ Vases – A fun technique to create glass vases that look like leather.

 Week 2 – June 23 – 27

 June 23 – “Who’s Egg is it?” – Creating animal/creatures who live in plaster eggs.

 June 24 – Imaginary creature Sculptures – Create an imaginary creature with model magic, paint it, and add details, i.e. jewels, horns, spikes, etc.

 June 25 – Paper Airplane Challenge – Learn how to fold and decorate many styles of paper airplanes and then fly them.

 June 26 – Simple Rag Dolls – Simple, fun, no sewing.

 June 27 – Miniature Wood Baby Furniture and Dolls – We will assemble miniature wooden nursery furniture, paint it, and make little children and babies to play with.

 Week 3 June 30 – July 3

 June 30 – Yarn Dolls – Dolls made from yarn, no sewing.

 July 1 – Buggy, Buggy, Garden – Imaginative, colorful egg carton bugs in an egg carton garden.

 July 2 – Princess Crafts – Crowns, streamers, wands, and jewels.

 July 3 – 4th of July Crafts – It’s all about red, white, and blue fun!

 July 4 – NO CLASS.

 Week 4 July 7 – 11

 July 7 – Dog & Cat Bookends – Dogs and cats and their habitats are the themes for these cute bookends.

 July 8 – Fabric Walls Hanging Art – We will weave, tie, add, and subtract fibers to create wall hanging works of art.

 July 9 – Decoupage/Tie-Dye Glass Plates – Please bring unwanted magazines to this class.

 July 10 – Flying Fairies – Delicate flower fairies that fly…no pixie dust required.

 July 11 – Fairy Beds – Every fairy needs a fairy bed.

 Week 5 July 14 – 18

 July 14 – Wizards – Clay sculpted, hand painted head with long wizard hair; add a cape, jewels, wand, and a bit of magic.

 July 15 – Brick Garden Doorstop – Miniature garden doorstops made with bricks, complete with little bird houses and butterflies.

 July 16 – Pocket Purses – Decorate a purse made from a Jeans pocket.

 July 17 – Decoupage Plates – Please bring unwanted magazines to this class. Learn the process of decoupage.

 July 18 – Glow in the Dark Alien Space Ships – Build a space ship then make it glow in the dark!

 Week 6 July 21 – 25

 July 21 – Fancy, Fancy Let’s Accessorize – Why be plain when you can be fancy. Lots of sparkle will be added to hardware, sunglasses, bags, and more.

 July 22- Silly Monster Pillows – No sewing, fleecy soft, funny faces.

 July 23- Giant Tissue Flowers – Learn to make tissue paper flowers.

 July 24 – Character Flower Pots – Create a cute character peeking out of a hand painted clay flower pot.

 July 25 – Large Paper Dolls w/Suitcases – Large dolls can look like you with yarn hair. Clothes are attached magnetically. Also, make a suitcase to stow all of the clothes.

 Week 7 July 28 – Aug. 1

 July 28 – Decorative Clipboards – Create a cool clip board, lots of great ideas presented.

 July 29 – Castles – Build and paint a sturdy cardboard castle, add towers, flags, stone walls, moats, and more.

 July 30 – Flubber Fun – No summer is complete without FLUBBER!

 July 31 – Snuggy Babies – Cutest, cuddly babies made from panty hose and wrapped in fleecy blankets. No sewing.

 August 1 – Tie Die Glass Plates – A favorite repeat from last summer.
