9AM – 4PM
Classic cars at
a historic site! Enjoy the
beautiful grounds,
grassy areas, shade trees and
relaxing atmosphere.
Pristine, vintage
vehicles show off again this year under our big old shade trees.
Last year’s car show was a great success.
Over 160 beautiful cars and trucks were on display for
the public to enjoy. Visitors
were even treated to an original World War II Duck that stormed the beach at
Normandy.
The
Country Flea Market opens at 9am with a wide selection of goods from live
plants to gently used attic treasures.
You’re going to get
hungry
so grab some food and beverages and take them over to the picnic tables, gazebo or into the
air-conditioned barn and relax here on the plantation.
This
year, the pasture next to the
Cultural
Arts
Center
is a spectacle of antique tractors
.
It’s a fitting display
for
the historic peanut plantation and a treat
for
farm fans
.
Paying a mid-year visit from Poplar Grove’s Halloween
Festival,
for
tune tellers Madame von Sloopenstein and Madam Deborah will be in their
cabins reading palms and tarot cards
.
With
all the shade trees at Poplar Grove it can still be pretty hot in July.
To cool off, there’s an ice cream parlor serving cones and
sundaes in the air-conditioned barn. It’s a great place to rest your feet and enjoy the oldies
.
You can pick up a snack or lunch at one of the food booths, and
then people-watch from a picnic table
.
Admission
is free. Donations to the non-profit Poplar Grove foundation or the
Hampstead Fire Department are appreciated.
Proceeds from the 50/50 raffle benefit the foundation
.
