Celebrating 30 Years of Being pNuts For You!

It's been thirty years since Poplar Grove, the oldest peanut plantation in the south opened it's doors to the public for tours.  Dating to 1795, the plantation founds it's way back to prosperity after the Civil War through the cultivation of peanuts.

Now part of the North Carolina Coastal Land Trust, on the National Register of Historic Places and a non-profit foundation, Poplar Grove continues today to educate students and visitors about farm life and the history of the American South.

A very special day on the plantation to celebrate Poplar Grove's 30th year of being open to the public.  We show our appreciation for the contribution to Poplar Grove made by the tiny little peanut.

We very much appreciate Poplar Grove's neighbors the many creative folks living on Cape Fear.  They work, volunteer and share their gifts with us throughout the year.
